About the role

As a Data Engineer on our Platform Team, you will be responsible for evolving our data platform and tooling for data ingestion, processing, and management. You will play a key role in building a scalable and robust data platform, enabling the company to leverage a wide range of data sources. You will continue to enhance and improve our data platform, which is hosted on AWS, Kubernetes, and Snowflake.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of skilled engineers to build and enhance our data platform, enabling efficient data collection, processing, access, usability, and monitoring.
• Develop architectural guidelines, solutions, and best practices for data pipelines using AWS and Snowflake.
• Evolve our Data Warehouse and champion our Data, ML, and AI efforts with a strong business focus.
• Optimize the way we manage and work with data across teams, products, platforms, and business in a rapidly growing company.
• Integrate new and existing data sources into our ELT and reverse ETL pipelines.
• Design and build optimal technical solutions for data governance, cataloging, discovery, and access.
• Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing standardized monitoring, CI/CD, and testing practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and best practices to enhance our data infrastructure.

As we are still in the early stages of building the data platform, you will play a key role in shaping, designing, and developing its foundational components. As the company grows, you will help us tackle new and exciting challenges, scaling the platform from tens of thousands to millions of users.

What you bring to the table

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working in a modern tech environment with data infrastructure, systems architecture, and AWS-related technologies.
• Experience designing and building robust data pipelines in production environments.
• Strong experience with data pipelines, SQL, and orchestration tools like Airflow or DBT.
• Hands-on experience with working with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
• Proficiency in one high-level programming language such as Python or Go.
• Experience using SQL (PostgreSQL) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
• Experience with data security and compliance (PII handling and GDPR)
• Solid understanding of software engineering practices, including version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and solve complex technical problems as a team.
• Drives technical and process improvements, actively seeking ways to enhance technology and workflows, with a motivation to implement positive changes for both the team and the company.
• Autonomous, self-motivated, likes new challenges, and takes responsibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high proficiency in English.
