Sr. Software Engineer - Real-time Communication

As we enter a phase of international growth, with customers across the Nordics, USA, and Europe, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Calling Team to help us become the global leader in #teltech!
About the role
You will be part of Team Calling, a cross-functional team of skilled engineers responsible for our call-handling functionalities, including switchboards, desktop softphones, mobile apps, and related infrastructure.
Our backend is built in Golang and runs in AWS using Kubernetes. Communication between backend services uses gRPC, and the front end uses React. We use GraphQL and REST and primarily use PostgreSQL databases with event sourcing, supplemented by ClickHouse for specific use cases.
As we are still in the early stages of building the platform, you will play a crucial role in shaping, designing, and building foundational components. As the company expands, you will help us with new interesting challenges, scaling our platform from tens of thousands of users to hundreds and millions of users.
About you
You are an experienced Sr. Software Engineer who has probably worked at several companies, including at least one startup, and growing with them from an early stage. You have experience working with Real-time communication/SIP in a full-stack role and are comfortable diving into occasional front-end work with React. You are excited about joining a startup journey where you will shape both product and technology while working in a small, high-autonomy team.
What we look for
- 5+ years as a backend/full-stack engineer in a modern tech environment, focusing on real-time communication solutions/SIP (Soft Phones, streaming, etc).
- Experience working with Go (Golang) and SQL (bonus for GraphQL, React, and Typescript).
- Ability to collaborate effectively and solve complex technical problems as a team.
- Passion for technology and excitement for the challenges of continuously adapting technology and working methods to support our scaling journey.
- Take ownership of your growth and support the development of others, eager to learn and share knowledge.
- Drives technical and process improvements, actively seeking ways to enhance technology and workflows, with a motivation to implement positive changes for both the team and the company.
- Autonomous, self-motivated, likes new challenges and takes responsibility.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high proficiency in English.
